Connecting Everything Through Color

A Mid-Career Survey of the Art of Alicia Philley

More than 100 of my artworks from the past 25 years now fill the East Gallery of the Dougherty Arts Center in downtown Austin

Creating this show has been a very complex undertaking. I’m honored to have this opportunity to present new work, outdoor sculptural work, art from my archive as well, as pieces on loan from collectors.

If you think you know what an Alicia Philley original looks like, you’ll be surprised at what you see on display!

Artist Reception on May 31 from 7-9 pm

Please join me this Wednesday to celebrate the opening of this expansive exhibition of my art!

“A World of Complex Affairs,” digital mixed media printed on organic fabric in five panels of 72” x 48”, 2021

I’m so proud of how this book looks and can’t wait to share it with you! The design includes 35 images of artwork from the exhibition, several essays and a beautiful cover.

The first 50 will be signed and feature hand-stitched binding by me! You can pre-order and have it shipping to your home or pick up in the gallery by mid-June. Any remaining copies after this pre-order period will be on sale at the Dougherty Art Center.
